Almost have all the rafters installed and somewhat formed into trusses. Considering this garage only ever had 4 VERY saggy 2x6’s spanning it I think this is a vast improvement.
Should be stapling your some vapour barrier by tonight and then start sheeting the ceiling. I’ve put a few hours in most days since I think Monday... I dunno. Everyday is a Saturday now so who gives a shit really. But it’s happening. I’ve had to be kinda creative with how I block them up as the “trusses” are 16” on centre from different ends of the building... so that’s fun. I’m running mostly 24” on centre.
Then I can reinstall the old garage door tracks and springs for now and source some new ones. I’m think wall mount ones and torsion spring. Less hardware to mess
with.

Torsion springs are nice, but they are tricky to install. It’s easy to get injured if you don’t have experience putting them in.

I’ve repaired and adjusted LARGE overhead doors at my last job . I’ve seen the kind of scenarios that happen when people do dumb things with them. We had two scenarios that led to people getting fired for messing with them after damaging them. People don’t understand that a commercial OHD can weigh over 2000lbs. I mean they’re 200+lbs a section and regularly are 10-12 sections tall. Saw a business across the way smash one with a forklift when it was fully lifted and then just reversed back. Entire door dropped out of the frame. Was scary as F. Nobody hurt.

Looks great! That'll be a nice and beefy ceiling!

Hope so. Going to put a hatch stair into it and store some small decorations and whatnot up there. It’s a pretty low slope roof.

It'll be fine for that, no problem.
